It’s All About Giving

Having the largest Cinco de Mayo race in Iowa gives us a chance to give back to our community who makes our race – and our fiesta – possible. Ever since we began the 5K, we made a commitment to give all our proceeds to charity. Our first year, we chose the Make-A-Wish Foundation as our beneficiary. As the second annual 5K came around, we decided it would be better to give back to our community by donating to a local charity, and what better charity than the Autism Society of the Quad Cities? The Autism Society provides key resources to individuals and families affected by autism such as education, support, advocacy, and more. We chose the Autism Society because not only are 1 in 68 children affected by Autism but also because we know first-hand the affect autism can have on an individual and their family. This year will be the fourth consecutive year we are partnering with the Autism Society.

Our Cinco de Mayo Fiesta

Years ago, Cinco de Mayo wasn’t nearly as popular as it is today. We were the first in the Quad Cities to celebrate Cinco with our community by throwing a fiesta, and it has been growing since. We started with the live band in our restaurant and have since grown into having multiple bands, Ballet Folklórico, Taco Eating Contests, a 5K, and much more. People come from all over the Midwest to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with us, and we are proud to host such a popular event. It takes months of preparation, but it’s always great to see it pay off. We are glad to share with our community the Mexican culture and to show the Quad Cities how to get down – Mexican style. Join us Saturday, May 6th for one of the largest Cinco de Mayo fiestas in the Midwest!
